I woke up this morning with a jolt and then after checking the news I wished I hadn't woken up at all. I can cope with nightmares... but reality? It's a little bit harder.
People... what is going on?
Why?
Seriously?
Do we really want to leave this world in the worse possible state for our children?
Not happy.
How can I teach them the importance of understanding and cooperation and respect if all they hear is the exact opposite?...
Scary.
It's made me eat white plastic bread for breakfast!! AND I skipped the gym!!
That is bad. Real bad.
Let's talk bulbs instead.
Every year I like to dot a few of these babies around the house:
This one will start its life in between 'sad geranium' and 'ridiculous cactus' on the kitchen sill, only to be moved to a better place once it's flowering.
Or maybe not.
We need all the 'pretty' we can find.
I'm off to buy more.
It's grim news indeed. How do we teach our children how to behave when the man with the top job... oh, you know what I'm saying, I don't need to bang on. Devastated too. And afraid of all that power in the hands of such a person. CJ xx

This definitely calls for alcohol tonight. I might see if Tesco has any amaryllises (that doesn't sound right) while I'm buying the booze.

May god have mercy upon us. Maybe he'll be found guilty in the court cases? Of course, then we have to deal with Pence, who is no better than he should be.

Feeling completely out of sync with humanity after brexit and this. As you say, what is going on?

And as one who lives there....so glad you don't have to give up your British passport when you become a citizen.......I didn't vote, cowardly, but neither filled me with any sort of enthusiasm.........but we have to keep on doing the right thing, loving our neighbour, teaching our children and grandchildren right from wrong and so on.

Sad indictment of western democracy . . . blah! blah! blah! It's Spring down here in Oz and I have been focussing on all the prettiness around. It has been an excellent diversion from the various negativities bursting forth from TV and radio of late. I sometimes wish there was another plant to escape to. If there was, you can bet I'd find out after all the 'messer uppers' got there. Ho Hum.
