Lately I've been digging fabric in solid colours. No pattern... I'm also trying to be more minimal in my design. Less fussy. Simpler. I read this quote once: "simplicity is about subtracting the unnecessary and leaving the meaningful"... or something on those lines... and whilst I'll never reach the beauty of minimalism (I'm too much of a hoarder), I'd like to be able to pare things right back.
Anyway, I wanted to make a big quilt for No 3's new double bed. Bright greens and blues are his favourite colours so at least I knew I was on the right track there.
I also wanted to try quilting in a grid line and totally loved how it came out... even if it involved a lot of time on my 45 almost 46yr old knees.
They boy is happy.
Mama's happy.
This is really beautiful. I love working with solids. Although I'm feeling a bit of a tickle to temporarily work with some scrappy prints.
