Friday.
I'm glad it's Friday.
So, what's happening... let me see... yesterday I had a couple of hours in a spa with a friend. Bliss. I'd forgotten about the healing powers of a hot steam room, an indulgent manicure, good company...
- Have you read the book "wool" by Hugh Howey? LOVED IT. One of those unputtdownable books that takes over your life. Great story, well written... (Although... why did he call it 'wool'? there are two or three references to knitting at the beginning... when one of the characters is knitting with ... cotton... but whaterver). Apparently the writer first self-published the book in installments that proved so popular that one financed the next and so on. Eventually he did get the big contract and you can read all about it here.
- People in my town this year don't loose as much stuff as did last year. It's very disappointing. A whole month of walking the dog and only this:
A sad, lonely scarf.
- One of No 2's little hamster was very poorly. He had this enourmous (for a hamster) bulge/growth/thing on his neck and we thought he was about to conk it. This on a day where their hockey team lost two games out of three and the lad was swamped by French homework...
So I took 'Larry' to the vet who diagnosed an abscess, lanced it and sent us home with a course of antibiotics.
The world is falling apart and I'm giving antibiotics to a hamster. There is definitively something wrong with this picture, but don't get me started.
- I love my children to bits... but sometimes I wonder what goes on in their head (if nothing at all)... yesterday I opened my ipad to see this:
I know that there will be days when I look back fondly at innocent 'search' like this one... for now... I think I need coffee..
- Have a good weekend.
thank goodness for spa days to balance out the hamster dramas x happy weekend to you too x

Hope that you get the hamster sorted out. I like the way that the search was for a "scary" helmet!! That was the thing that made me laugh most, do you think that it would add to the hockey players skill, or just terrify the opponents! xx

Hmmm. Who was that popular creepy character -- was it Freddie or something -- who used to wear a hockey mask? Apparently Amazon hasn't been informed, because they do exist -- probably Amazon is protecting mothers everywhere LOL. And Larry is very lucky to have such a loving "mother"! Have a good weekend backatcha!

Sorry about the hamster, but at least it's nothing serious...? I guess...we've never had hamsters, only reptiles. And yes, we've had to apply meds to a lizard's eye before, so...I'd rather do the hamster!

I told both of mine that if they agreed to go in goal for Hockey that I would break their legs to avoid them having to play there. By the looks on their faces, I was convincing.
Spa? Bliss. I wish.

Hurrah for spa days! And the Amazon search is hilarious. Dragons den here you come?

I've never been to a spa - For some reason I always imagine them to be intimidating places.
My son once searched online for 'slavery' for some homework, but got more than he bargained for!

They have to Google scary goalie mask. Hockey goalies don't wear helmets.
