Postcards from Tuscany.
It's our last day, nonno and the boys have gone off to do more archery, whilst nonna and I drove to the nearby Monterchi to see the famous painting by Piero della Francesca called 'La Madonna del Parto'. Absolutely stunning. (I would give you a link but I'm posting from my iPad using blogsy and I haven't discovered how to attach a link yet... If anybody knows...)
It rained so we didn't get the chance to walk around the old medieval village...
We saw this instead:
Magical.
Gorgeous. I shall miss your postcards!

That last photo is stunning. These posts have really whetted my appetite... we're going back to Tuscany in the summer.

Buon ritorno a casa.

Thank you for all the holiday postcards. Much enjoyed, and I could almost pretend I was on holiday! We spent the first half of our honeymoon in Tuscany and it clung to my heart. We have a lovely, large painting by Tavalina (Israeli artist who used to live there) hanging in our lounge and it takes me back there every time.

I adore the Madonna del Parto. When I first saw it, it was still in the chapel near the cemetery and my grandmother saw it there fifty years ago when it was still attached to the wall and the caretaker opened the chapel up just for her and had to evict a couple of chickens that were sheltering in there. It looks like you had a lovely Easter!
