I finished the quilt for mum but haven't taken any pictures of it yet.
I've been busy painting the hallway. Two coats. The downstairs is virtually finished (just a lot of 'snagging' to do, I find it difficult to paint straight edges...well, straight)
and I must say I love the colour. It makes the hallway look 'grown-up'. (Does that even make any sense?)
Farrow & Ball - Elephant Breath... (now, I'm all for original and different names... but elephant breath? hello? I'd like to know 'why'...)
***
No 1 was back in casualty yesterday. Why?
He fell.
Off.
A.
Chair.
Don't ask, don't say anything, pretend I didn't tell you... because if you do I'll have to think about it again and I might not be responsible for my own actions anymore.
More x-rays, more doctors, an emergency appointment with the orthopaedic doctor today and he now sports a hard blue cast to keep him out of trouble. And yes he still has the titanium rods in. And a cast. And a sling thing.
***
As he was being 'casted up' he asked me if now was ok for him to play football at lunchtime.
...
I don't think he's head is allright either.
Let's concentrate on flowers.
Flowers are pretty.
They don't fall of scooters.
They don't want to play football with broken arms.
They just are.
Oh my! I'm not even mentioning it, but Oh My!
I don't imagine elephant breath is nearly as lovely as your wall. I bet elephants have stinky breath, and your wall is not stinky looking at all! It looks soft and serene and grown up!

Argh, that sounds like the most frustrating afternoon - poor No1, and poor you. I look after the children at lunchtime at school, and I live in fear of one of them falling off a chair. They seem hellbent on hurting themselves one way or another!
And yes, Elephant's Breath? Pretty colour, bizarre name ...

That's boys! Stay calm in your grown up elephant's breath hallway - it looks very calm and sophisticated.

Love that colour - very calming. I'm fond of elephants but the name's a bit bizarre!
As for No 1, as my daughter when aged 10 was heard to say when she was at school where she was one of 8 girls in a year group of 52 boys: 'some wretched boy's always wearing a cast or hobbling about on crutches, or else they're covered in mud' Sums it up really!

Perhaps he'll be a stuntman when he grows up. Thank goodness for calm flowers and elephant's breath walls.....and wine is pretty good too!

elephant breath... (I'm laughing)

Not just boys I'm afraid. My girl was up climbing frames with her cast on after she dislocated her elbow (bouncing off a trampoline). There was no stopping her so I just looked the other way ...

Kids.
Can't kill 'em; can't tie 'em to a tree.....
Love the hall!

They do collect dust though. Kids don't do that.

Bad, bad child. Should have more respect for his lovely Mama.

Elephant's breath is very grown up and calm, even if it is a little disturbingly named. Now go swaddle your son up in bubble wrap and lock him in his room!

The hallway looks so elegant. And poor No 1...and you...perhaps bubble wrap is the way to go! K x

Oh poor thing I hope he gets better soon!! And I hope this isn't a taste of what's to come this year for your sake!!

Your hallway looks gorgeous. And I have no words for that son of yours!!

Elephant's Breath!!!! I bet once F&B had thought up that one they couldn't resist using it. I wanted green for my porch and once I saw Teresa's Green I couldn't resist using that either!!
