I was going to tidy up the study; fold fabric, sort out ufos, get rid of unwanted stuff...
but I knew it wasn't going to happen the moment I came across this bag full of small tapestry wool I'd picked up who knows when from who knows where. (Note to self... when tidying up a messy room leave the drawers till last, they can be awfully distracting).
... because next thing I know I'm grabbing a crochet hook and begin making circles.
Big and small.
And then I joined them, because they were calling for it.
And these sweet little garlands were made.
I have absolutely no idea of what to do with them...
but they make me happy.
(oh, and the study is still a mess)
But at least the study looks jolly with its new garlands! K x

As long as you're happy!
I'd be happy too if they were adorning my now bare house after all the decorations have been packed away...

How cute! When something is calling to be made, you have to make it regardless of the mess left to clean!

Those are so cheerful and lovely. I'm sure they're making a much bigger impact than cleaning would have!

Brilliant!! Isn't it nice being distracted from chores such as tidying?! Lovely garlands!

They're precious! Hang them in your sewing space -- so you can enjoy them :-) Nothing wrong with a little impromptu crochet magic!
Cheers!

I think they're gorgeous, I think you should drape them decoratively over the mess xxxxx

I love them! I am supposed to be working on unpacking my studio and organizing but I just got out the things to make a tissue paper garland and the supplies are sitting out tempting me as I sort out yarn and office stuff.

Oh oh oh. Sigh. So lovely. If ever if ever you'd like to swap one for something let me know, do!

How absolutely adorable! What a great idea. How long did it take you? I am always getting distracted by crafting odds and ends. Great project!

How do you make them? They're exactly what I want to do with these snowy evenings!

Great advice for not peeking in drawers. The same has happened to me! But I didn't get such pretty circles out of it. They're so cute.

gorgeous! I'd just hang them in my room!!!!
I've done the clearout and it feels sooooo good! posted 5kgs of fabric to my sister in law, bags of yarn to my mum for my crochet...it just leaves me embarrassed about how much I buy and how much i don't finish!
well done for trying to clean!

A much better use of your time than tidying and such a beautiful result is absolute proof of time well spent!

I think they are begging to be displayed in a little girl's room. :)

Time well spent - the cleaning will wait until another day but when the craft muse hits you, you have to go with it!

Now, if we kept our craft areas tidy all the time we'd never have these lovely moments of coming across a forgotten item. Your circle garland is fabulous. I'm sure I've got some tapestry wool somewhere from a project that never got started that would be just the thing!

Now I know how to add more color to my craft room and use up my scrap yarn! So wonderful. I linked to your project: http://themarioscarf.cassiecsmith.com
