Let's talk books today.
You all know I love reading, you all know of my collection (obsession) of Little Women editions and that my book case is colour ordered. (Don't do it, looks great... can't find anything)... so you'll probably be surprised that this book has been passing me by for 5 years:
I can hear a lot of you gasp... probably the ones that were actively blogging at the time it came out... I know I know...
And then somehow it fell into my Amazon basket and the rest is history. I devoured it (joke.. ha ha, food book... devour it... no? just me?). I couldn't put it down. I went to sleep hungry for the three nights it took me to read it. (No time during the day, sadly).
And now I want to cook everything in it.
And I don't have a skillet for a tarte tatin...
And I don't even like fennel, but somehow I have to try that salad on page 238-9.
And the coconut macaroons with chocolate ganache...
It's really a lovely lovely, engaging, moving, heartfelt read.
Which brings me to Molly's (she doesn't know but we're on first name basis..) newest book:
A very personal account with recipes. And a lot of mentioning of pizzas which - once again - leaves you hungry.
And wanting to go to Seattle to sit in their restaurant.
And build a pizza oven in the garden.
And cook penne alla vodka.
And chilled peaches in wine.
And without a doubt the first recipe will be Katharine Hepburn's brownies.
Go on, read them. I dare you not to start cooking straight away!
(Molly Wizenber, is the author of the blog "Orangette", a real delight in itself)
