Easing myself randomly into home life:
- I thought I did most of the washing back in the holiday house.
- I didn't.
- Very annoying.
- Can someone remind me, before I leave next time, NOT to switch off the fridge?
- My sister had a nasty shock when she opened it after a week we were away.
- She survived but might need therapy in the future.
- None of the items in the fridge or freezer survived however. It must have been a slow and painful death. And smelly. Oh dear.
- Re-filling a staggeringly empty fridge is a very expensive operation.
- I must have been out of my mind in the days before leaving/last few days of school... because I also ordered No 3's birthday present and sent it to my brother in Italy by mistake.
- Lots of people donate all sort of things to his convent (my brother is a monk) but an electric scooter??? What must have they thought at that...
- Despite all the above it's actually quite nice to be home.
- Tea. It's lovely to be able to brew a nice cup of tea.
- I refused to become one of those people who carries their tea with them on holiday, part of the fun is exploring local flavours... when in Rome... and all that.
- Tea in Spain is not brilliant.
- Paella is.
- Not that I had paella for breakfast.
- The novelty of 'cooler weather' has already worn off.
- I'm in two minds if putting socks on or not. And the idea alone is totally wrong at the end of July on the Northern Hemisphere, right?
- I've read a lot on holiday - mainly 'chewing gum for the brain' kind of stuff - and were totally disappointed with 'Fallen' by Lauren Kate... sigh. I was told it was better than 'Twilight'... NO WAY! Fallen angels... who would believe in that!
- (of course vampires and werewolves are much more likely... )
- Have you been watching the London Olympics? How exciting!
- We have tickets for next week's athletics and I can't wait!!
- I must go and empty the drier....
- sigh...
