Random Friday with a Swedish flavour:
- I've had a cold for two weeks now and I'm seriously fed up with it. It's a bit early for the Rudolph/red nose look
- In Sweden they take their mid afternoon cake and coffee very seriously. I love that. It helps when you're not feeling at your best.
- I tried a different cake each day.
- (that particular pastry had a light vanilla cream inside... delicious. And don't you love the knitted doily? No I didn't accidentally take it home with me. Mr M wouldn't let me, even though I had a cold).
- The above is the city lending library. The most beautiful of buildings:
- the main circular room is enourmous and yet the books and the wooden shelves give it a sense of calm and the perfect light for reading. But not when you have a cold and book dust really makes you sneeze.
- Did I mention I have a cold?
- A lot of people in Stockholm cycle. If you consider how cold it is in October already this is very remarkable. This maybe the reason why they need so much warm coffee and cakes. And although we didn't cycle we were out in the 'fresh air' and that didnt' help my cold. Nor Mr M's.
- Mr M has a cold too but his is much worse than mine. He's a man.
- The above 'thing' is a public toilette. I didn't have the courage to use it. What if I got stuck inside? What if it was actually a time travelling machine? No thank you. Not with my cold.
- The plants I planted on Monday are still alive and well. They didn't catch my cold. Obviously.
- If you ever get the chance, do go and visit this city.
- Even with a cold.
