My knitting/crochet fasting continues. My shoulder is much better so it's obvious that by not doing much I have removed the cause of the problem. I wonder how long I must 'rest' it (I'm using 'resting' as a rethorical word... with a house, a husband, a dog and three children, 'resting' is always a very relative concept).
Case in point?
No 3's school shoes after a playing at a friend's house... need I say anything?
But let's talk about something else:
I know some of you (Kristina?) are not huge fun of their first book (it was admittedly full of ... mistakes...) but somehow I was quite happy with it and when I found this one on offer at the local Supermarket I had to snatch it up.
I must say, they've done their homework this time. (Gina thinks so too!)
I firstly tried their lemon and thyme cake... and it got eaten (mainly by Mr M) quicker than I could find my camera and take a picture...
Then No 3 and I made these:
oh boy... they were good... (even without the marshmellow fluff, we just used butter frosting as a filler)
(don't judge a whoopie pie by its shape...)
I had such a great time making these with my little one that I should have known better and just savour the moment... but no... when I said to him "wow, look at these, good job, you really like baking don't you, little man? he replied "Not really, I like licking the bowls afterwards".
Harsh, but honest.
I also tried another recipe on the same day:
and it promised to be beautiful... unfortunately it was meant to be cooked in a pan of water in the oven and water got in and soaked it. Blah. Must try a different way next time (and if anybody has any clever suggestions please...!!!)
So go off... get yourself a copy... now...
