I won't go into too much details about the fall I had this morning walking Lilli up the hill. Let's just say I slipped on a sheet of ice. And skidded on my bottom downhill for about ten yards. And you know what?
I laughed. I laughed really really hard. It was great fun. Child fun. I laughed like a kid. And I almost climbed back up to do it again. I totally get why my children do things like that now. I mean, I 'remembered'. I guess I must have done it as a child but somewhere along the road I repressed the memories of the fun and got all serious and boring. But how much wonderful it is doing stupid things like sliding around on ice. Even when you're bottom is completely drenched (and a bit sore..).
I sincerely hope that next time the boys do it, I won't be stopping them... but I will be joining them instead. (Maybe sitting on a plastic bag... instead of straight onto jeans!)
... how I laughed...
I've been drinking a lot of tea lately (try saying that a few times, quickly), I blame the Clipper lot...
I've discovered a new treasure:
oh my. Just try it. (The box is beautiful too, you know I can't resist their packaging!!)
And you know what's the best with tea? A magazine... and I've just about found a real gem.
It's like a really cool blog, but in print format... in fact there is a blog too: here.
It's like no other magazine I've seen, it's fresh and fun, creative without being condescending or self lauding, or pretentious.
It's young too. (and it kind of ties with my story at the top... it's sad to loose the 'young' in ourselves, we take ourselves far too seriously far too often)
There are a lot of articles about all sorts of crafts
So how about it? Go out, have a laugh, drink vanilla tea and create.
That's my message.
