the year of crafting dangerously - aka crochet shrug

What a gamble.

I've got a few Japanese crochet books and I've always used them as font of inspiration - after all they're totally gorgeous right?  but let's face it... Japanese is a tad different from Italian...

What the heck, let's make 2008 the year of crafting dangerously...

Shrug_behind

Let's crochet a pattern totally guessing on the yarn and gauge required

Sleeve

Let's gamble on the size and follow our nose for the finishing instructions

But let's do all this using a wonderful yarn in a gorgeous colour because at least we can enjoy the journey.

I'm all for wonderful yarn and enjoying the journey! But in your case, the destination is pretty special too.

wow great job. I would probably end up with a distorted item if I tried to interpret something like that. Love the color yarn too.

Wow, it's stunning even without the incredible journey to get there!

Very adventurous! And very beautiful shrug! I did the same with an amigurumi bear. There's probably mistakes galore, but like you say its the journey that counts.

It's gorgeous. And now you match your bedroom.

I love that adventure! And again, wish I could crochet! The glimpse of spring you gave was just the shot in the arm I need. Now, if I could just get the weather here to cooperate!

Lovely! You crafting risk-taker you. Kid Classic is a truly sumptuous yarn.

What a great project. You did a beautiful job with this. I also admire your fancy camera work-lol.

I'll have to try that over-the-shoulder move sometime myself.

Have a great week!

you did a great job! it looks wonderful on you.

good on you for doing this. I was just thinking the other day.."why oh why am I ordering more Japanese magazines, when I don't make anything from them?"

it has turned out so well.

Hay - have you been working out?

It's beautiful - gorgeous colour. I love your bedroom too - beautiful wallpaper.

So cute. You are a multi-talented crafting princess. Lovely.
