artsy clutch and drawstring bag

I'm getting ready for our summer vacation.  Like last year we'll be away for a whole month and whilst on one side I'm really  happy to stay at my parents with all the help that entails... on the other... a whole month away from MY home is quite hard.   No sewing machine.  A whole month.

Therefore, I now proclaim August 'knitting month'.  'Socks month' to be precise - although I'm still slowly working away at my rowan lacy vest (slowly being the key word here...).

So in order to transport safely my precious wool I made a couple of small bags:

::: artsy clutch::: (yes, from 'Bending the rules Sewing', again...)

Clutch

this is the quickest project ever, the longes part is choosing what fabric and which button to use

::: drawstring bag:::

don't you just love that fabric from Aunty Cookie?

And the yarn?  Well, if you insist, I'll show you...

(Four Seasons - Hot Socks - Sockenwolle - colour 932)

(Steinbach Wolle - Strapaz - I have no idea because it's all in German... sorry)

Hey, wait a minute... I need another bag!!!!!!

I love the button you chose for the artsy clutch...and the crocheted flower brooches you had on the previous post are so cute....and yes the fabric from Auntie Cookie is stunning. I've got her "birdie and birdcage print", but still waiting for some inspiration (and time).

what great bags....perfect for carrying around those beautiful yarns!

Absolutely you need more bags, though these ones are great. Sock knitting is a skill that has passed me by, to my sorrow. Just can't co-ordinate all those needles.

beautiful clutch! love the red button!!
:D

Have a great trip, the bags and the sock yarn are to die for.

I, too, use a drawstring bag to carry around the current sox project. Have fun on your holiday!

love that Aunty Cookie fabric. it is fantastic!

The yarns are beautiful! Can't wait to see the socks. :)

Lovely, lovely! I love that green fabric. You could pack your sewing machine, you know? But maybe a break is a good thing. Enjoy!

That clutch is very cute, but I don't think you'll fit a lot of wool in there ;))

You've been so busy while I was gone. I love all of your bags and that clutch is so cute! I need to get back to my sewing machine.

So sorry to hear it's still so rainy. I just got back from my holiday in the UK where it rained for 3 weeks. The sky peek through a bit but I'm happy to see some sun back home in CALIFORNIA. Take care traveling with your knitting needles in the plane (if you're going that way) My knitting needles were confiscated in Heathrow!

I DO love that fabric from Aunty Cookie! And I love the tote you made with it!

I love that red button! Your bags are fabulous, I just ordered my copy of Bend the Rules, cant wait. And I also can't wait to see the results of your August knitting month!

I am slowly catching up on my bloglines, and just loving all your bags. I have just booked my copy of bend the rules, and think I might start with the little artsy clutch. I'm sure Shannon over at Aunty Cookie would love to see your bag too. I have the same fabric and planning to make a knitting tote with it. ok onto your next post :)
